I recently bought a slow cooker and have been using it to believe it or not cook things slowly. With this, I get to harmonise two of my favourite things, pulled pork, and Guinness.
You will need:
– 1kg of Pork shoulder
– 1 – 2 cans or bottles of Guinness depending on this size of your slow cooker.
– 1 Beef stock cube
– 1Tbsp of freshly ground black pepper
– 1 large onion
– 2 tsp of salt
– 1 tbsp of chili powder
When your in the butcher, ask him to cut off the skin as you won’t need it, but keep the skin, to make pork cracklings, more on that later.
In a freezer bag pour in the salt, pepper, and chili powder. Strip off any remaining fat on the shoulder and place in the bag. Tie the top of the bag and then roll it…
